Q. Are the things listed on this site really free?
A. I do my best to only list things that are truly free. I usually don't list offers that require postage or the purchase of something else. I do make rare exceptions to those rules, but I let you know about the costs.
Q. How can all this stuff be free - what's the catch?
A. Most free items are offered for marketing purposes. Companies hope that some of the people who come for a free item or sample will also purchase from them. Free services are usually supported by advertising.
Q. Will I receive everything I send for?
A. I try to list only free stuff that I'm confident you will receive. Unfortunately, it is still likely that some offers will never arrive. This usually happens because the company offering the item underestimated the response. It's just a fact of life for those in search of freebies. The best advice is to check the New Freebies page every day to get the best chance of getting your request in before they run out.
Q. Why don't you list contests on the site?
A. We have a separate Contests and Sweepstakes site. This site does, however, host a Beanie Baby drawing.
Q. Can you list my free stuff site?
A. I don't have a freebies site links page but you may list your site once in the designated folder on the Freebies Bulletin Board.
Q. How do I get my free offer listed on your site?
A. If you have a free offer or just know about a good one feel free to email with as much information as you can provide. I particularly would like to know where it is available (US, international etc.). I'll review the offer and if it looks like something my users would like I'll list it on the site or in my newsletter.
Q. Can you send me the Freebies Guide?
A. This one makes me laugh every time. I am the Freebies Guide and no, I can't send myself to you. I do publish a Freebies Newsletter.
Q. How can I advertise on this site?
A. All advertising is handled through About.com headquarters. You can read more including who to contact in the Be an Advertiser section.
Q. What if my question was not answered here?
A. Please feel free to ask it on the Freebies Forum.
